Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actress who is known for her role as the fierce lawyer Teri Joseph on the Showtime series Soul Food. The actress is known under her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. Her talent for acting was evident from childhood. In a Maryland high school contest gave her the best actress award. She earned her acting degree from the New York University after working in the Washington Ballet Company' and in theatre. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first big role. Films like Blue Streak and Boogie Nights Spark followed. Soul Food was an immensely loved TV show. Her TV appearances include Second Time Around and Empire. Earlier in her career she was a part of several stage productions. Parker is married to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. Their two children are born.
Born in Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria from the age of seven. Contractor was well-informed about the world and an array of civilizations at an extremely young age. After attending boarding school for seven years in London Her family then moved to Toronto Canada in which she lived for much of her early years as well as her early years of adulthood. Contractor was a student and an expert in classical dancing in Toronto. In the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school specializing in the arts), Contractor studied both ballet and theater. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that acting was going to be her future career. She had danced for over a decade. Following her graduation from high school Contractor received a scholarship from the University of Toronto to pursue an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology. In addition, she obtained a master's degree in Theater. Contractor was offered the lead part in Pericles following her one year stay at the University. She was a part of the audition for the part in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and was awarded. The production she appeared in earned praise from Canadian reviewers. The actress accepted an invitation to join Stratford's conservatory. It is a place where only four men and eight women are able to take a 20 weeks crash course of classical theater. Her place was guaranteed for the following play, and she landed Hermia's character for the role of Hermia A Midsummer Night's Dream.
